Eric does some impressive work in the ditch at the Birmingham 2011 Fun Fly Friday night. Watch carefully as he touches down pretty hard while inverted in the ditch then goes back to his routine. Tony’s commentary spices up the action. The video doesn’t do the flight justice, trust me… I was there. Nice flying Eric!
In case you don’t understand how the spotlight night flying works I’ll give a brief explanation. This flight was tracked by FIVE people with 10 million candlepower spotlights. This way if any given person loses the heli with their spotlight, there are 4 backups. The helicopter is more than visible in the night sky with this kind of lighting.
I’ll be following up later with a photograph of this flight that was taken over several seconds. It has a ghostly feel and the field looks like it is on fire.
