Since the release of the Align Trex 700N kit there have been wide spread complaints about stripped gears. Align released a revised main gear but that still hasn’t completely solved the issue. MicroHeli has listened to the public and recognized a demand for larger MOD 1.0 gears for the Trex 700N.

Gear stripping has become a big problem for many owners of the Align 700. The reason is most 90′s have mod 1 gears, where as the 700 has .7 mod gears. This presents a problem because the pinion and the gear go out of mesh due to the poor tolerances, and the .7 mod gear cannot take the extra stress. Some have also come out with adjustable bearing blocks, but once the gears are slightly worn, the adjustable blocks will only buy you a little more time. This should be an all inclusive end to the problem.

Had the pleasure of going to the Whittier Narrows mini funfly last Sunday. It was a wonderful day for flying; no wind and a bright 80 degrees. Hopefully all you east coasters dont mind our warm temperatures. At least I got some great photo’s so you can pretend you were there.

I made my last trip to the flying field for the year of 2008 today. Specifically the Sepulveda Basin. The great thing about the field is that there is an abundance of pro pilots, which makes for some great photo taking. I took advantage of that to try out my new camera.
