This past Saturday was the first ever event put on by the OC heli crew. With attendance near the 70′s, it could be said this was very successful for a first time event. The club held a large raffle that consisted of many top dollar prizes. Noon time demos took place along with an autorotation and drag race contest that yielded cash prizes for the first three winning contestants. Tim Jones took first place in the drag race with his “beast”, and “fireup” Kevin took first in the auto contest. Weather was good throughout the day, with cloudy skies, temperatures in the low 70′s, and very little wind. There were several vendors in attendance including MTA Hobbies, Gyro Hobbies, and Canopy Works. Helifreak.com, an online forum, also made a big appearance at the event playing a major roll in the organization and setup of the field. Overall, the event was a huge success and will hopefully be even bigger and better next year.

Lower attendance seems to be a trend this year at events, however the people down in San Diego still put on an amazing show. There was no wait at the flight line so you could go up whenever you wanted. Many pros made their way to this event, including Curtis Youngblood, Nick Maxwell, Ben Storick, Jason Krause, Ray Nemovy, Erick Stolz, Jason Bell, Brandom Updike, and Tim Jones who put on an amazing show. I spent the whole day taking pictures, infact 700 or so, so there will be two galleries for you all to enjoy-

Year after year, the guys up in Bakersfield put on a great show in May. This year was no exception. Even though registration was down from last year, there was still plenty of flying on one of the best fields out there. The weather couldn’t have been more perfect, and with appearances by Tim Jones and Jason Bell, the fun fly turned out to be a big hit.
Also to note, A Main Hobbies had a major presence at this event with more pilots there than you could count, representing their new TZ Frenzy 50 Helicopter. Their star pilot, Ben Storick, was burning gallons throughout the day, representing the machine.

The weekend has come to a close, and everyone has packed up, but it was an incredible event. RCHeliResource was on hand and just during Saturday, got 3 hours of video. Flying weather was perfect on Saturday, however on Sunday, everyone packed up because of pouring rain. This was definitely “the” fun fly to attend besides IRCHA, with Curtis Youngblood, Alan Szabo Jr., Jason Krause, Matt Botos, Jamie Robertson, and Nick Maxwell in attendance.

Just returned home from Vegas and I have to say it has been a great few days. For the most part, the weather was perfect, albeit a little hot. Otherwise, it was an almost perfect event. The majority of these pictures are of Jason Bell’s Avant Aurora. I spent a bit more time on post processing these pictures so I hope they look a little better than the last batch.
For those who are curious, pictures were taken with a Canon 70-200 f2.8L on a Rebel XS

Today marked the end of the 2009 Align Ultimate Competition. The pilots brought out their best and put on an amazing show. Videos are uploading now so expect them as soon as we get back. I took over 600 pictures today and tried to narrow it down to the best.

The RCHeliResource crew is out here at the Align Ultimate competition in full effect. We have the editing crew as well and the photo crew. The competition has been fierce and there are alot of new faces in the pits this year. Some team changes….some poeple missing and some people stayed the same.
Definitely noticed that alot of pilots have changed from raw smackdown to a new smoother bigger sky style. All-in-all its a good day. We have all of the videos ready to be uploaded. We already have everything edited but our internet connection will limit us a little bit. Sunday all videos will be posted but daily we will post scores and photos.

This weekend there the Santa Clarita flyers put on a little get together in the wash. About 10 people came out to have a good time flying. I was out there and got plenty of pictures for you guys to look at.

Hey all,
Had the pleasure of going to the Whittier Narrows mini funfly last Sunday. It was a wonderful day for flying; no wind and a bright 80 degrees. Hopefully all you east coasters dont mind our warm temperatures. At least I got some great photo’s so you can pretend you were there.

I made my last trip to the flying field for the year of 2008 today. Specifically the Sepulveda Basin. The great thing about the field is that there is an abundance of pro pilots, which makes for some great photo taking. I took advantage of that to try out my new camera.
