At this years IRCHA, Avant RC dropped a bombshell, announcing the new Aurora 90 electric. During the event, their team pilots put on stunning demos that really showcased the machine. Just announced, Avant has decided to make a couple of modifications to the frame for even more convenience. Read on for more information.

Just before IRCHA last month Daniel made a big leap from Team Mikado to Team Avant. We have all watched Daniel over the years and he’s an amazing pilot. Now finally we get to see his talent behind a larger 90 size nitro heli. Here is a recent video of Daniel flying back home.

This past Saturday was the first ever event put on by the OC heli crew. With attendance near the 70’s, it could be said this was very successful for a first time event. The club held a large raffle that consisted of many top dollar prizes. Noon time demos took place along with an autorotation and drag race contest that yielded cash prizes for the first three winning contestants. Tim Jones took first place in the drag race with his “beast”, and “fireup” Kevin took first in the auto contest. Weather was good throughout the day, with cloudy skies, temperatures in the low 70’s, and very little wind. There were several vendors in attendance including MTA Hobbies, Gyro Hobbies, and Canopy Works. Helifreak.com, an online forum, also made a big appearance at the event playing a major roll in the organization and setup of the field. Overall, the event was a huge success and will hopefully be even bigger and better next year.

Just returned home from Vegas and I have to say it has been a great few days. For the most part, the weather was perfect, albeit a little hot. Otherwise, it was an almost perfect event. The majority of these pictures are of Jason Bell’s Avant Aurora. I spent a bit more time on post processing these pictures so I hope they look a little better than the last batch.
For those who are curious, pictures were taken with a Canon 70-200 f2.8L on a Rebel XS

Henry Caldwell is one of the most “interesting” flyers in the hobby, no two flights are the same, and some of he stuff he does is just radio bending.
