Inertia RC, known for their successful Inertia 860 gyro, just released info on their new flybarless unit. It should be released the first week of August so we should be seeing it in action at IRCHA. The preliminary pricing has been set at $380 or below. While currently in final testing, time will tell how it will compare to the Mikado V-Bar, the current leader in flybarless heli systems.
This year at IRCHA we are doing it big. No longer do we need to self-promote. The goal now is to increase the reach of the industry companies to the customer base. Big or small, foreign or domestic, paid advertiser or not….you can now shine on RCHeliResource.Com. Whether you are at IRCHA 2009 or not this is your chance to show your 2009/2010 products. We are dedicating 2 resources at IRCHA to doing just this. Participants will receive a 2009 RCHeliResource Media Kit, dedicated page for their marketing at IRCHA 2009 with photos videos and information collected by our team before and during IRCHA 2009. If your products announcements are confidential we understand and will honor that confidentiality with a non-disclosure agreement. You specify the release date and we will publish on that date only.

UPDATE: Per Brian Butler at Next-D “Yes it will be a nitro model with an electric conversion available at the time of release. It might not happen 100% that way, but rest assured it will be nitro with an electric option. Likely a flybarless option as well.”

I and many others have had our struggles attempting to figure out the black art of how to properly breaking a nitro engine. Sure, you can always go for a short 4 gallon deal and have good power at first, but after just a few months of flying, power really seems to fall off. Recently, I discovered Ben Minors guide on how to properly break in and tune a nitro engine. Needless to say, it has drastically improved how my engines last and perform in the long run. I wanted to repost it here so as many people could learn from it as possible. Hope you all enjoy and successfully run your engines!

Fresh from a Team Align member in China we have some new pictures of Alan Szabo Jr. testing the latest version of the ever evolving Align T-Rex 450 heli. Not to be confused with the Align T-Rex 450 Pro which is a completely different heli. This is an update to the last T-Rex 450 SE V2 and features updated head, tail, and frames pieces. The 450 Sport will feature the new BL450M brushless motor as well as option for a Torque Tube shared from the T-Rex 450 Pro.[SinglePic not found]
Announced this week on the Align Taiwan site is the latest 450 size brushless motor. This motor is a true outrunner design similar to Scorpion where the outer can spins. The BL450M is designed as a “shelterless” outrunner which means it doesn’t have an outer can protecting the spinning part of the motor. The Align BL430SP that comes with the T-Rex 450 Pro is actually a “sheltered” design and thus has had issues with head build-up during flight. The BL450M is 3500kv while the BL430SP is 3700kv.
SwitchGlo has just released the new Pro version of their popular remote glow product. The Pro model adds several new features as a result of feedback from customers.
