I have been getting alot of emails asking where are the daily update emails are.  We have been updating the site but I have noticed that the daily emails are not going through.  I am not sure why but I am definately trying to figure out why they are not being sent out.

We do not believe it is a SPAM issue but a mail configuration issue on our new server that we have been unable to figure out.  As soon as we can figure it out.  You should start to get emails again.

I know for some people they are happy to not get our daily email.

Just released this week is Eflites new Mini CX. It comes in 2 versions, a Bind and Fly, or a RTR version. The RTR version contains a PC Game pad/Playstation type controller. It has trim tabs, and surprisgnly, a Dual Rate option, but not on a conventional switch. In order to switch beteween Dual Rates you actually press in the right stick, and the LED on the transmitter will blink to signify the change, and when switched back, it will go back to a solid red. Pretty nifty.

VJ product is bringing out a new F3C muffler specifically designed for the OS 91HZ engine for competition  use. Currently still in the pre-production stage, the company has posted that performance of the new muffler is pleasing. It gives consistent performance and brings out the power in the upstairs(it says up in the air, which I assume stands for the upstair part in f3c flight). It is also said to be silent enough to pass competition sound level standard and light weight at approximately 180g(FYI: A mp5 weights 229g). Currently accepting pre-order at a listed price of 17850 yen before tax, vjp special price of 12500 yen, before tax. Expected in mid oct 2008.

Server upgrade was completed last night.  A few small hitches but everything went smoothly.  There as no sever downtime.  This box seems almost twice as fast.  The transfer throughput doesn’t seem much faster but I have logged a ticket with our upstream provider since we are on a 1GB connection it should be much faster…maybe it just the route to my AT&T connection thats swamped.  Send me an email and let me know if you see a difference.  The pages render MUCH faster now.

By now, I am sure many 700N “beta testers” who frequent forums like helifreak and runryder are pretty worried about throwing or breaking a ball link in flight. No worries, you are not alone. Yours sincerely have  been losing sleep over it too.

In my “desperation”, I wrote a post on the official, Align owned, Align forum. In my post, I enquired about the rumour of links breaking in cold weather, linkage rods being too short and ripping off and of course, links that could never go on straight. In addition, I also enquire about the looseness of the ball links on the linkage balls. The problem I am having is that the washout arm links are fitting extremely well, but the rest of the ball links have in-out play on them out of the box, which in my book stands for worn linkage.

Not too much information, but Spartan is working on their new governor, incorporating a mixture control, and a collective management features all into one box. The collective management feature works as the following, “The iGV will use the target rpm to manage the throttle as you would expect. Once the engine has reached it’s maximum output and HS is still sagging, the system will then reduce collective to maintain the targeted rpm setting. All indicators are that you are better off maintaining HS vs having a lot of pitch in the blades and lower HS.”

Looks interesting, and waiting for more information to become available.

Seems for the second time this year we have OUTGROWN out hardware again.  I had to now move to a dual core dual processor server with a 100 megabit connection.  I think the reason is that we are now hosting our own videos as well as the high traffic amounts.  When we can afford it we will seperate the video download server from the web server but for now this hardware and network upgrade should provide sufficient growth for the next year I hope.

New server will go online tonight at 2am EST.
