This weekend, thanks to ReadyHeli and HeliDirect, we got our hands on a couple of the new Futaba 8FG radios. The radio I have had for the last year has been my Futuba 10CHP which is a very capable radio. We will have a full review coming soon but keep reading for my initial observations compared to the 7C and 10C.A Few Initial observations:
- Thinner and easier to hold at least for my smaller hands
- Backlit screen with adjustble brightness and timers
- Huge nicad battery 1700mah
- Same gimbals at 10C (very smooth)
- 2x 2 positions switches, 1x momentary swtich, all the rest are 3 position
- Software as advanced as the 12FG line of radios
- low price point around $450 for radio and 8 channel HS (high speed 7ms latency receiver)
- SD card for adding more than 20 models (not sure if you can copy to another radio)
- Integrated antennae (not an add-on module)
- Radio BALANCED at neck strap loop (no need for add-on balancers)

Bad photography; like 20 shots of front and none of back…
