Q. When did you start with RC Model flying and why?
A. 8 years ago my father showed me how to fly RC Helicopters. I started with a Raptor 50 and a Kyosho Caliber 50. For the last 3 years I have concentrated on 3D flying which is what I like to most.
Q. What RC Helicopters have you flown?
A. After doing my first hover and flights with the Raptor 50 and Caliber 50, I tried many other models like the, Hirobo Freya Op 90, Raptor 90, JR Vibe 90, X-CELL Stratus 90, AVRO 90, the complete range of Align… I have had a lot of different brands and models!!
I started flying 3D with a T-Rex 600 Nitro, trying my first inverted flights, Pie Dish, Hurricane, kaos… As I got better skills I needed a bigger and better helicopter, it was just when Align released there T-Rex 700 Nitro. Since that moment I only fly with that model and it’s the one I like the most!
Q. Who supported you back then and who supports you now?
A. My best sponsors have been my parents! They helped me whenever I needed. My commercial sponsors started to see me from early 2008. Flightpower was my first sponsor together with Torsion Blades, they asked me to do some demo flights for them at 3DMasters 2008. After that I got a lot more sponsors. In 2009 i entered the official Align Team as well as the Freakware team (my best sponsor). At this moment I fly for a lot of brands like: Align, Freakware, BeastX, Optifuel, SpinBlades, Voltz, ReactorX, Hacker, Castle Creations, Lynx and Fusuno.
All of my sponsors are a big help with my passion for RC Helicopter flying and they offer me the possibility to continue and experience competitions and events all over the world.

Hi,
My name is Timo Curlis (TC) I am 16 years old and come from Mönchengladbach. Be enthusiastic early 2010, I fly Rc Helicopter, I started with a T-Rex 450 from Align. With him I have learned all the basics until I REQUEST the summer of 2010 my T-rex 700′ve got. By 90 he went right off with the flying and 3D characters who could fly with my 450 were not possible. Shortly after, I found that place the 3D Masters 2010 in Venlo. Because of course I wanted to immediately look at me sometimes and like so runs a real competition. After I then drivers like Daniel Jetschin, Nick Maxwell, Jamie Robertson saw me packing the ambition and I have looked at many videos of top pilots practiced their figures and tried to incorporate them into my style of flying. From then on, I also went to the first major meeting, where the first companies were aware of me. Through your support will now allow me to come along on large flying days. This year I’ll fly with Simon vom Baur together at the 3D Masters competition in Snycro, and together with SpinBlades Ircha at Road to be there.
