In addition to the already renowned Ultra Duo Plus 45 and 60 showed the Graupner Ultra Duo Plus 80:
A 1000 watt charger with 2 outputs, each up to 2 x 8S batteries. The high charging efficiency, however, is only minutes for an input voltage. 24V achieved. When using the AC adapter Graupner 6450 with 12 V and 25 A that signifies the 4 power supplies are needed (2 x 2 x parallel and serial) to get to the necessary input power. Walkera showed a new transmitter they helped working on. The Devention Devo 12 is a high-end multi-purpose radio with glider, plane and heli menus, 60 model memory and touch display to navigate trough the intuitive menu.
Also on show are four new helicopters, one of which is the V1120D01 Mini 3D helicopter. The flybarless machine with a rotor diameter of 305mm is powered by a 850mAh LiPo battery, brushless motor and is stabilised by a 3-axis gyro and flybarless system. Designed for indoor use flight times of a round 9 to 10 minutes are possible. The second new one is the much larger V450D01 heli with a rotor diameter of 731mm. The machine also is 3S LiPo and brushless powered, features a carbon frame, flybarless rotor head and comes with metal gear servos.

Jeti showed us their revolutionary DC-16 transmitter. Available sometime around mid-2011 the radio’s casing sports a CNC-machined magnesium frame and alloy upper and lower parts for that overall spacey look. The sticks feature hall sensors rather than standard potentiometers for more precision and consistent performance over the whole lifetime of the transmitter. Offering 16-channels and 2.4GHz Duplex telemetry technology the DC-16 is updatable via PC interface, has a five language menu, 2GB of internal memory and weights only 1.2kg. The Duplex telemetry system shows all data in realtime in the radio’s display and also offers voice warnings. Later on a DS-16 called hand held transmitter is planned for those who don’t like to operate the sticks with their thumbs.

Czech company MS Composite developed a new line of standard and flybarless main rotor blades, called Champion. The carbon blades are made from very high quality materials and manufactured using special techniques incorporating high pressures and temperatures resulting in a very stiff blade with minimal torsional flex making them interesting for both 3D beginners and advanced pilots. Available are 325mm up to 710mm standard and 600mm to 710mm FBL blades. Also new are .50 and .90 class as well as 500 site carbon tail rotor blades.
Based on MS Composite’s Champion blades are the new Night blades and Magic Night blades with a new battery remove system. The tail blades use 3V non-rechargeable Lithium batteries while the main blades sport specially housed LiPo batteries that slide into the blades and use standard “BEC” type connectors for easy recharging. Each rotor and tail blade sports two different colour LEDs making identification in the air easy. The LEDs are switched on and off using a jumper that also controls the patterns of the blades. A total of twelve colour combinations are possible. The new Magic Night blades incorporate a total of 56 LEDs forming logos, typo or picture in the dark sky. The blades sport the same LiPo packs as used with the Night blades and also incorporate a small processor that is feed by a USB interface connected to a PC. A software allows for easy set-up of the patterns with a total of 240 pictures storable within the blades. With the help of an external IR sensor these pictures are selectable from the ground.
MS Composite also had the prototype of a new Hornet helicopter to show but information about it are vague as the specs are not finalised and the fair is used to gather more information about the wished of the customers. But what we could find out so far is that the heli might come with a BeastX Microbeast flight stabilising system as standard and will also feature an “inline” drive train with both the motor and tail rotor shaft aligned in one line.

KDS Model had new 550, 600 and 700 size helicopters to show here at Nuremberg. The KS550 and KDS600 share the same rotor head which is easily convertible from flybar to flybarless design (and vice versa) within roughly 10 minutes. The KDS600 and 700 also share most of the rotor head’s parts. Sporting a full carbon frame, direct push servo design and a light canopy all three helis have F3C and 3D flying abilities with only a couple of tweaks needed to perform the change from one class to the other. All helis come as kit with brushless motor, speedo and gyro already included in the kit. The flybarless variants also include the needed flybarless electronics.

Multiplex showed their new Cockpit SX M-Link with three different colour schemes on the toyfair. Coming in good ol’ silver with plastic sticks, dark soft touch or yellow high gloss finish, the latter two also sport black and silver aluminium sticks to further stand out. When it comes to technical data and specification all three transmitters offer the same meaning picking one of these is just a thing of personal preference in style. Additionally, as an upgrade from the usual transmitter, the radio now shows up to 8 sensor values in the screen. The radio is available as transmitter only, as “Light” set including RX-7-DR light M-Link receiver or as “Telemetry” set including RX-7-DR M-Link receiver.
The Multiplex FunCopter is now available as V2. Offering even easier flight characteristics thanks to updated fly paddles, it is tougher thanks to a redesigned tail rotor shaft and is more powerful due to a brushless motor that is less sensitive to voltage changes of the battery pack resulting in a more consistent, more powerful flight.

Hitec’s new Power Miser brushless servos are 6.0V to 8.4V high-voltage items with Neu/Castle brushless motors and a newly designed digital circuitry that is customisable via Hitec’s own PC software. The servo’s feature Titanium gears and with metal-plastic-duralinium 1st gears. The hybrid gear promises maximum durability and creates a certain “anti-glitch” effect as it prevents the electrical contact between the servos and the aircraft’s or helicopter’s hardware. Available will be the HSB-9360TH (0.07s/16.5kg), the HSB-9370TH (0.10s/23.0kg) and the HSB-9380TH (0.14s/35.0kg – all @ 7.4V).
Also available is a huge line of 7.4V high-voltage digital and digital standard servos for most of the important applications in helicopters and airplanes with micro, mini, midi and large-scale items available. Special wing servos like the 8mm thin HS-7115TH are also available very soon.
To make maximum use of the digital servo technology Hitec introduces the HFP-25 digital servo field programmer. The stand alone unit allows the customisation of parameters like direction of rotation, failsafe settings, EPA, neutral point, failsafe reset, overload protection and servo resolution. Hitec also have home and home/field programmers available with the HPP-21 and HPP-21 Plus. These do basically the same as the HFP-25 with the difference that they make use of Hitec’s PC software.
The Eclipse 7 Pro 2.4GHz utilise Hitec’s new telemetry system and should please Arco, Glider and Heli pilots alike. Using a one-way AFHSS system the 16-model memory radio offers many telemetry functions such as sensor monitoring and on-board receiver low-battery warnings. The Eclipse 7 Pro sports quad ball bearings for the sticks, 7-character model names, range check mode and of course all of the software goodies 2011 spec transmitters have like engine hold, five programmable mixes, conditional mixes, flight timers, alarm sets and many more. The radio comes with Hitec’s Optima 7 AFHSS 7-channel receiver that offers of course telemetry capabilities, Hitec’s own Boosted Omni-Directional Antenna and supplementary power connection. New for 2011 are the Optima 6 Lite, Minima 6T and Minima 6E 2.4GHz receivers. The Minima 6T and 6E are high voltage capable while the Optima 6 Lite full-range receiver utilises the supplementary power connection.
