MrMel’s Headspeed Calculator as seen online you can now get the IPhone version.
It gives you a good estimate how to gear your Electric Radio Controlled Helicopter.
It automatically fetching list of helicopters from MrMel’s site so it’s always updated with the updated list.
It will allow you to save preset (models) with your information which you can recall at any time.
It will also save last data used so you always come back with same info.
It can both give you estimated head speed or if you choose so it can give a suggestion of what pinion to use.
Do note that all values are estimated, true head speed may vary.
Known issue: There is a current issue with the setting 65C+ pack which does not work properly.
Use the 60C setting which is then showing correct calculation for the “65C type packs”.

It the late 2000′s Steve competed in 3D masters multiple times and went on to win the UK 3D Championships in 2008. This cemented him as one of the top 3D pilots in the world.

Recently I got to take a tour through the Castle Creations factory in Olathe, KS. I really enjoyed my visit there and I found that making speed controls was a much bigger production than I had imagined. In this video Lee Estingoy takes us through the assembly line at the Castle factory to see how speed controls are produced.

The variable-pitch propellers allow for more aggressive maneuvers and aerobatics than possible with typical fixed-pitch quadrotors.
