BREAKING: 6-Channel Transmitter from Sanwa/Airtronics

Mike V over at RCHeli Mag just sent this one out via twitter LIVE from the Nirenberg Toy Show.

Sanwa, sold under the Airtronics Brand in the States is releasing this new SD-6G 2.4GHz system. It’s a digital 6-channel radio with 10 model memory, digital trims, 5-point throttle and pitch curves, CCPM mixing, flight timer, and more. No official word when it would be sold State side, or how much it would sell for.

RECALL NOTICE: Futaba TM-14 module

I noticed this weekend that one of my friends never sent in his recalled TM-14 module so I just wanted to make sure everyone knew about this even though its about 30 days old.

“The Futaba factory has recently notified us of a difficulty with some of the TM-14 modules that were produced and shipped to America in 12ZA and 12ZH transmitters between July 1, 2008 and September 30, 2008. Great Planes has worked with Futaba to verify our records; there have been less than two dozen of these items received in the United States which might exhibit these difficulties. To ensure that our customers don’t experience any problems with these modules we are issuing a recall on any transmitter which includes a TM-14 module with ID numbers: 08430001 through 08432345 and 08440001 through 08442504.

If you have purchased a 12ZA or 12ZH transmitter after July 2008, we encourage you to look at the serial number for your TM-14 module to ensure that you do not experience any difficulties. If the serial number of your module falls within the range noted above, please contact the Futaba Service Center immediately for information on how to return your TM-14 module for replacement. Please note: When shipping your item to us we recommend that you insure it and use a shipper that offers a tracking service (for example by Federal Express Ground or UPS Ground). For shipments from Canada, you may prefer to use the postal service to avoid brokerage fees, however tracking is not available. If you include a copy of the receipt, Futaba will reimburse you the cost of the standard postage and insurance fees necessary to return this item to us. Please note: this does not include any expedited handling costs. We will also ship the replacement module to you free of charge.

Looks like one retailer MAY have the jump on everyone else. RCHeliGears is taking pre orders and has listed their retail pricing. Looks like they are stocking all three models for sale on Jan 8, 2010.

$333.00 T-Rex 500, $360.00 T-Rex 600 and $416.00 T-Rex 700

Esprit Models is now taking pre-orders as well with a $100.00 deposit, however no pricing has been announced by them.

NEW: Scott Gray Reactor X2

Scott Gray has just announced an updated version of the very popular Reactor X regulator. The new Reactor X2 adds two new key features to the proven Reactor X design; 1. three selectable voltages, and 2. 15amp continuous output power bus. The original Reactor X had two selectable voltages; 6.0v and 6.8v. The Reactor X2 adds a third selectable voltage of 8.4v unregulated bypass for the cyclic servos. Regardless of which voltage your select, the RX is still powered by a reliable 5.2v power source for the remaining radio components. The best part is the updated Reactor X2 retains the same retail price as the last version, $134.95!
