This one slipped under the radar without much announcement. Looks like Spektrum has released it’s first new servo in a long time and aimed directly at the rc helicopter market. The Spektrum H6040 has some pretty impressive specifications, but then when you see the price you will be VERY impressed! With titanium gears, .08 transit speed, and 167oz torque all for $79.99 looks like Spektrum is going after the title for best bank for the buck budget servo.

Shown at IRCHA this year, and widely anticipated for the past several months, is the new Mikado Logo 500 SE (Special Edition). We just got a note from Outrage today that their new Formula Nitro Fuel is almost ready to ship. They expect it to be ready the first week of Oct. All of Team Outrage was running the Formula fuel at IRCHA and it looked really good! The fuel will be available in 20% and 30%.

KDE Direct has released a handful of pictures of their Align T-Rex 700 electric conversion. The conversion kit consists of three aluminum pieces and is in final production now due to ship by the end of the week.

First shown in pictures from our 3DMasters coverage in Spain was the fact Align has been working on a new version T-Rex 700 Nitro. Dubbed the Limited Edition, the main different between the original 700 release is, with the exception of the tail case, all of the aluminum pieces are silver anodize instead of black. Now that Align has officially added the T-Rex 700 LE to it’s online catalog we also know it will be released as a combo with included electronics and blades.
Align didn’t reserve the Limited Edition for just the T-Rex 700 Nitro they also gave the same treatment to the T-Rex 600 Nitro. As with the 700, the 600 Limited Edition is basically a 600NSP with silver anodize instead of black. Align has released this kit as a combo that includes electronics and blades
We broke the story back in June with CAD drawings of a possible Align T-Rex 700 Gasser in design. Well now there is no doubt, Align is moving forward with this project. We just got from our good friends at RC Mania some behind the scenes spy shots of Alan Szabo Jr. getting the T-Rex 700 gasser ready to fly.
Up until this point the cheapest FASST 6-channel RX w/ standard servo plugs was the R617FS at $99. This was a disadvantage for Futaba compared to Spektrum which has several 6-channel RX’s in the $50-$80 range. Well Futaba has been paying attention because they have released two new 6-channel RX’s. Both RX’s are identical except for the external antenna which affects the operating range. The R6016HF has a non-coaxial “short range” antenna and is designed for small park flyer planes and helis. The R6016HFC has a standard “mid range” coaxial antenna and is designed for mid sized aircraft like a Trex 450/500 or up to a 51″ airplane.

At least one company, an online retailer in Taiwan, listed the new Align T-Rex 250 “SE” Super Pro Combo on their site today (albeit out of stock). While the new 250 kit hasn’t been listed on Align’s official site yet, the pictures on the Taiwan site look to be final product photos of the heli and box. The other piece of info we now have is a retail price for the kit, $439.99 USD which is only $10 more then the original 250 Super Pro Combo.
Fresh off Kasama’s web site we have some updated CAD drawings showing the progress of the SRIMOK 90 electric design. The first thing you notice in these latest drawings is the battery placement has changed. Originally both batteries where show up front one on top of another. Now one battery is up front and one underneath the electric motor.
