EVENT: LA 3D Fun Fly Oct. 9-11

Last year’s LA 3D was an exceptional event, with a great turn out and some big name pilots as well. The organizers plan to make it no different this year, expecting attendance higher than last years event. Rotor FX will also be in attendance, with a full scale Schweizer landing as well as a Mosquito on display. The RCHR team will be out in full force shooting HD video and pictures, but this is definitely an event you will not want to miss.

Here is a video of Bert Magbanua putting a Thunder Tiger Raptor 3D running a TT-Hemi through its paces. This one is running a pre-production verision and pipe but looks like its ready for “prime-time” to me.

Event Coverage/Photo Flood: LA3D Helicopters

With last years heat, came a new plan for the LA3D Helicopters event, move it to October, they should be able to beat the heat then. And they sure did that this year! Bert and his crew of 20 or so people put together one of the greatest west coast fun flies I have ever been to. The flying was hot, weather was perfect, moderate wind every now and then, great atmosphere. All in all, this event went down to be one of the best in my history book. With about 100 registered pilots, and flight stations packed 2-3 people back, on each station, there was plent of Nitro being burned, and electorns flowing through out the action packed weekend. Vendors were on hand to provide out any parts needed, and the local teams were out with their hottest stuff, and pilots.

“It’s going down!” October 10th, 11th & 12th. Maybe not as BIG as IRCHA 2008 but its one of the largest fun-fly’s on the West Coast.
