RCHR’s own Dave Dijkmans was embedded with 2011 Team Road to IRCHA for two weeks. Team RTI drove over 2000 miles, filmed at more than 10 different locations and shot over 200 GB of Film. Thumbs up for the Crew, great job guys and girls. You will be able to read the first part of the Road to Ircha Story in the coming issues of our media partners. Eric Brandenburg takes flight at IRCHA 2011 with Dave Ketelhut’s Compass 7HV turning a wicked 2500 RPM headspeed. Dave was kind enough to share the specifications with us.

Specifications:

100% stock 7HV air frame no mods.
JR 8917 servos, MKS 760 tail servo.
Hobbywing 120HV ESC.
stock compass 700mm blades.
Scorpion 4525-520LE motor with 14T pinion 100% flat throttle curve giving me 2500 RPMs.
15° of pitch.
Punch RC X2 6S 5100 35C MAH packs.
8FG radio.

Its has been a long time coming but it looks like their strive for the "pursuit of perfection" as culminated into a fantastic performing machine right out of the gate. Luigi Rungi puts the Infusion series of helicopter through its paces at IRCHA 2011. I am definitely impressed with its performance. Check out the trailer.

KDE Direct was proud to attend the IRCHA 2011 event and witness the recent boom in new technologies for Electric-Flight, especially in the RC Helicopter arena. With such a growth in the 700/90-class Electric Helicopter market, 3D flying is getting even more exciting year-after-year.

Mitch Pricer, Synergy R/C Team Pilot, put on a great flight of the KDE Direct TREX 700E helicopter, showcasing the performance capability of the new KDE Direct 700XF-495 HP Brushless Motor. Due to the high-efficiency design, typical 3D competition pilots can experience 5-6 minute flights at high-performance settings (2225 rpm, +/- 14 pitch), but the motor can deliver explosive flights capable of draining even the highest-quality LiPos in under 4 minutes when desired. The motor is being pushed to the limits of LiPo technology on 12S and once ESCs can produce dependable 16S controls, it’s going to be even more insane what this motor will be capable of.

The temperature at IRCHA 2011 seemed to be about 15 degrees cooler than previous years, but the action on the flight line and vendor tents were HOT. At this years event, the Advantage Hobby girls win the IRCHA Hot Girl Contest and yes, there are photos of them as well as the Avant girls.

Here is an outstanding demo by Pulse Team Pilots Eitan Goldstin and Chen Zarfati at IRCHA 2011. These guys simply look like they fly well together. Both Eitan and Chen are using Pulse 65C batteries. Click to check out this vid of Eitan and Chen putting on a great demo.
