]]>Members from the Align, Avant, and Mikado heli teams all made appearances, putting on the stunning flights we’ve come to expect from today’s pro pilots. Bert Kammerer and Rodgers both put on spectacular flights with their Align T-Rex’s. Avant pilots Jason Bell, Marcus Kim, Daniel Jetschin, Thomas Moore, and Justin Barry took to the air on Saturday pushing the limits of the Aurora ever further than before. And never to be outdone in total flight count, Mikado pilots Jesse Kavros and Kyle Dahl seemingly flew battery after battery on their Logo helicopters; a final count from Jesse revealed nearly forty flights over the course of two days.
The RCHR team was of course on hand, not only providing you the standard event coverage, but we also began production of our upcoming TV show with our wonderful host Eunice Kiss. More on that later…
But for now, you guys can at least enjoy the photos we’ve taken at the event. Be sure to check back for more event coverage as we travel around the world to some of this years most exclusive events.

Contest Rules
Novice
1. Timed tail in hover
Task
The pilot will be timed for what they think is a 60 second hover with the tail of the helicopter pointing towards the pilot. The helicopter must be kept at a tail in attitude from take-of to landing.
Object
Once the pilot is ready, he will lift the helicopter off in a hover, at this point the timer will start a stop watch. The pilot then in his own mind hovers till they thinks they have reached 60 seconds, at which they will then set the helicopter back down on its skids. (No watches or transmitter clocks can be used). At this point the timer will stop the watch. If for any reason the helicopter skids touch the ground, that will stop the watch which ends their attempt.
Scoring
The difference between (either over or under) to 60 seconds will be your score.
The pilot will try to get the lowest time they will get.
2. Timed tail in pad hop
Task
The pilot will touch each pad with there skids in the order of there choice.
Object
Time begins when the skids of the helicopter lifts off of the starting pad and ends when the helicopter touches all six pads and returns to the starting pad. Skids must be fully on the pad. This will complete your time for the first attempt. Without shutting helicopter down, the timer will have you do a second attempt; the goal is being as close to the time of your first attempt.
Scoring
Your score will be the difference between the two attempts.
This score will be added to you 60 second hover attempt.
The scores will be added together and the pilot with the lowest score will win.
There will be places for up to 3rd place.
Intermediate
Task
The pilot will be timed for what they think is a 60 second hover with the nose of the helicopter pointing towards the pilot. The helicopter must be kept at a nose in attitude from take-of to landing.
Object
Once the pilot is ready, he will lift the helicopter off in a hover, at this point the timer will start a stop watch. The pilot then in his own mind hovers till they thinks they have reached 60 seconds, at which they will then set the helicopter back down on its skids. (No watches or transmitter clocks can be used).

Skids must be fully on the pad. This will complete your time for the first attempt. Without shutting helicopter down, the timer will have
you do a second attempt; the goal is being as close to the time of your first attempt.
Scoring
Your score will be the difference between the two attempts.
This score will be added to you 60 second hover attempt.
The scores will be added together and the pilot with the lowest score will win.
There will be places for up to 3rd place.
Advanced
1. Timed pirouetting hover
Task
The pilot will pirouette their helicopter for sixty seconds starting from nose-in and ending nose-in. The helicopter must be kept in a constant pirouette after take-off until landing.
Object
Once the pilot is ready, the pilot will lift the helicopter off, at this point the timer will start the stop watch. The helicopter must be kept in a constant pirouette after take-off. The pilot then in his own mind will pirouette till they think they have reached 60 seconds, at which they will stop the pirouette, then bring the helicopter
nose-in and set the helicopter back down on its skids. (No watches or transmitter clocks can be used). At this point the timer will stop the watch. If for any reason the helicopter skids touch the ground, that will stop the watch which ends their attempt.
Scoring
The difference between (either over or under) to 60 seconds will be your score.
The pilot will try to get the lowest time they will get.
2. Timed pirouetting pad hop
Task
The pilot will take of nose-in and touch each pad nose-in with there skids in the order of there choice, while doing 1 pirouette between each pad touch.
Object
Time begins when the skids of the helicopter lifts off of the starting pad and ends when the helicopter touches all six pads and returns to the starting pad. Skids must be fully on the pad. This will complete your time for the first attempt. Without shutting helicopter down, the timer will have you do a second attempt, the goal is being as close to the time of your first attempt.
Scoring
Your score will be the difference between the two attempts.
This score will be added to you 60 second hover attempt.
The scores will be added together and the pilot with the lowest score will win.
There will be places for up to 3rd place.
Auto contest
Task
The pilot will take the helicopter up 200 feet and kill the engine. Each pilot will attempt this three times. There is no practice autos.
Object
The pilot will try to get the nose of the helicopter as close to the spot on the ground as they can.
Scoring
The judge will measure the distance from the nose of the helicopter to the spot on the ground.
This distance will be the score for the attempt.
The three attempts will be added together and the pilot with the lowest score will win.
There will be places for up to 3rd place.
