Orlando Helicopter Blowout 2010

The 3rd installment of the increasingly popular Orlando Helicopter Blowout was held this past weekend, December 10th through 12th down in Apopka, FL and once again, it was indeed a “blowout”. Record attendance proves yet again, this is one of the largest helicopter parties going, second only to IRCHA itself.

The final pilot count was 228 registered pilots so another record year for OHB. By lunchtime Saturday even the spectator lot was packed with cars. All of the pros and featured pilots in attendance really made this event rock. The noontime demos on Saturday were so good they kicked it up with even more later in the day with somewhat of an afternoon, show center jam session.

Thanks to Bert Kammerer and the TORCHS team for hosting and to RCACF for the use of Tangerine Field once again. Thanks also to Mike Fortin MC’ing the event again and for putting on a good flight himself at demo time. Lastly, thanks to the sponsors and vendors for the great raffle prizes again this year and for bringing your team pilots to lay down the smack.

We are very pleased to announce our third annual fun fly in Orlando, Florida. This will again be held at the RCACF (Radio Control Association of Central Florida) field December 10, 11 & 12 2010.

This is one of the best locations for a fun fly in the US and the weather in Orlando in December is very nice average temps in the upper 60’s to low 70’s. Lots of places to visit near, including Disney and Universal Studios!

Last year (2009) we had over 220 registered pilots making us the 2nd largest event in the United States! This year will be crazy, more pilots, more top names, more prizes, more fun!
