So this video just popped up on the freak, right when I thought I’d seen it all. Some guy decided to put a turbo charger on his T-Rex 600. The funniest thing is a guy at our field kept on asking if it was possible to supercharge a rc engine. I didn’t know what to say because I said it wouldn’t be practical… well… here you go-

No, these are not prototypes. Neither are these pre-production samples for Align reps. These are ready stock of the production version and are what you, me and everyone else will see on the shelves of hobby shops very soon. According to the Align forum, the current stock for the muffler is limited and even hobby shops in Taiwan are only getting a few pieces each.

VJ product is bringing out a new F3C muffler specifically designed for the OS 91HZ engine for competition use. Currently still in the pre-production stage, the company has posted that performance of the new muffler is pleasing. It gives consistent performance and brings out the power in the upstairs(it says up in the air, which I assume stands for the upstair part in f3c flight). It is also said to be silent enough to pass competition sound level standard and light weight at approximately 180g(FYI: A mp5 weights 229g). Currently accepting pre-order at a listed price of 17850 yen before tax, vjp special price of 12500 yen, before tax. Expected in mid oct 2008.

These headers (for Hatori pipes only) have been quite the rage latley, and have been steadily moving off the shelves, and onto peoples 90 sized helis. Many have raved about more power, more consistent power, and over all, much better than stock. They are available for both OS91 and Ys91 motors, through GrandRC.Com.

After several gallons of fuel have been run through my T-Rex 600N, I started to notice an intermittent, metallic rattling noise which seemed to be coming from the Align pipe. Some research on the forums led me to believe that the baffles were prone to failure in this pipe so I began to look into alternatives.
I had considered purchasing a Hatori pipe, since others have reported good luck with them. Still, I wanted to keep some options open, and I knew that Outrage RC, manufacturers of the G5 and the upcoming Outrage 550 electric helicopters, and the Outrage series of Lithium Polymer battery packs, had just released a new pipe designed for .50 size nitro helis.
