Note: the KDE Direct TREX 700 Series Performance Tail Control assembly is the ultimate, slop-free control system available on the market to provide precise tail control and authority. Add the KDE Direct TREX 550/600/700 Series Performance Tail Upgrade V2 to the system and you now have a complete, dual-radial ball bearing supported assembly throughout for the ultimate flight characteristics. With the mechanics of the dual-fork supported tail slider, there is no worry of abnormal wear or torque loads on the tail shaft slider for a continuously smooth, failure-free operation even under the hardest and most extreme flying conditions.
Important: due to the precision CNC-machining of each component, correct installation is key for proper, bind-free operation. Please pay attention to the Installation Instructions, take your time during the install, and make sure to apply medium-strength Loctite (Blue 243 or equivalent) to all screws during assembly. Once fully-installed, significant reduction in slop throughout the tail mechanics will be clearly evident on the bench and in actual flight.

KDE Direct Team Pilots for 2011
Our core philosophy at KDE Direct is to release the highest-quality products on the market with the best customer-service possible from our team. We believe you can’t have this philosophy without a Team that shares the desire to excel, and each member of the Team was chosen for their passion for the hobby and the quality of their character. Not every member is a top-ranked competition pilot, but they are committed to helping others and are the types of pilots who continue to make RC Helicopters one of the world’s greatest hobbies.
Clint Akins
(Code Name: Back Country)
Clint joined the team in 2010, coming to us with a huge wealth of knowledge in the RC Helicopter industry; including past experience as Team Manager for Miniature Aircraft and Vice President of FlightPower. Currently employed by Castle Creations as Outside Sales and Support, he’s a familiar face at the vast majority of shows across the United States and is the lead support for RC Helicopters and ESCs.
Rob Clark
(Code Name: Blue Loctite)
Rob was the first to join the team back in 2008 and has been instrumental in helping bring KDE Direct to the forefront of RC Helicopter design. Having been flying helicopters since 1998; he’s seen, built, and flown just about every helicopter ever released to the market. As the President of Cascade Rotary Wings here in Oregon, Rob leads the popular Brooks, OR FunFlys hosted here in the Pacific Northwest every summer.

Frank Columbia
(Code Name: Executive Council)
Frank joined the team in 2010 and is both a highly-talented 3D pilot (competing in the XFC 2010) and a skilled business man. Last year he took a further step into the RC Helicopter world, taking on the role of Team Manager for A Main Hobbies. When you see the number of shows he attends each year, you know he has a true passion for the hobby. It’s not often you won’t see Frank’s helicopter flying around the major shows throughout the year.

Kyle Stacy
(Code Name: Young Guns)
Kyle joined the team in 2010 and is one of the greatest talents in 3D competitions. Known to be the pilot to beat at any Indoor Competition, Kyle recently took 1st place at the 2011 E-Fest Heli Smackdown. His crazy-fast reaction times easily translate into spectacular talents for Outdoor Competition as well; placing 4th at the 2010 Extreme Flight Championships (XFC) at only age 15. Expect to see Kyle become the top pilot in years to come, an exciting future is ahead for him.

Sean Whitney
(Code Name: Security Clearance)
Sean joined the team in 2010 and is arguably the most talented pilot in the Pacific Northwest. It’s easy to tell when Sean is flying at any of the local shows, as his skills in the sky are easy to spot. Currently, stationed in Afghanistan, he’s been able to transfer his skill of RC flying to defending our nation piloting drones and other classified aircraft.
