Helipiloten love, almost a year ago I could not stand again and a magical force drew me to the PC in order to develop something new. If the part will first look at the computer, there is no escape anymore.

The RIGID series is my first helicopter in the 1,6-meter class, as the name suggests only with rigid rotor head for paddle-free flying is delivered.

From the motors and controller side of the smaller machines are also almost equally equipped, so no great savings potential.

I have over the years, always seeking new innovations and tried different things, which then have been imitated elsewhere. Eventually we approached a constructive solution, which offers everything what is physically possible.

There are always different ways to get to your destination, but there is a slight risk that it is only for cosmetic modifications that are nothing more flight Technically bring.

The attraction lies for me is a machine constructed by the clever arrangement of the essential components and a minimal number of parts emphasized.

Straightforward and clear design for me are the advantages of the so-called “German Engineering” and not the fifth edition of the tenth copy with a few additional levers, ball bearings and rod tuned ;-)

This time I was the first time in my helicopter for a two-stage gearbox decided. Through the positive experience with the MP-series with the module 1 helical gears in terms of efficiency and noise, prevail despite the minor losses through the second stage, the various benefits of constructive.

In contrast to MP resulted in a savings, because the production costs of the smaller gears lower and unproblematic, and the freewheel with the housing flange on the intermediate shaft can be much smaller. The stiffness of the whole mechanism is increased without additional measures, and by an extremely compact gear arrangement, which forms the core of the mechanics, there is an optimum dispersed arrangement of the tail pipe attachment and optimal storage of the main rotor shaft.

The distance from the upper to the compact Domlagerplatte Rotorhead central piece is as low as any other helicopter in this size so that the bending load for the 10mm hollow main rotor shaft is not a problem.

The tail gearbox, which is the MP-XL proven, was unchanged, only the tail blade grips are now made of plastic rather than aluminum. The main reason is that due to the better performance almost exclusively carbon tail blades are used, which in conjunction with the Alublattgriffen often too stiff fine and aggressive generate vibrations. The plastic sheet handles allow for better absorption (sometimes you have to hold over his own shadow, and jump back a step, if it serves the cause ;-)

Even on a horizontal tail was completely abandoned. This section has now no longer, as it only disturbs normal flying, additional weight and vibration generated during transportation and often just weird aneckt somewhere (it’s amazing how much better the helicopter without tail height, around 180 degrees in the car next place can).

Even visually it misses by the sleek and futuristic design of the helicopter is no longer.

Advantageous for people with little space in the car is that the tail pipe along the front pinion, struts and push rod in less than a minute from a helicopter to dismantle it.
