We have just received notification from Curtis Youngblood Enterprises they have elected to discontinue the Solid G gyro. This is not due to any issue or defect in the Solid G but instead because the Mini-G popularity has shown to be much higher then expected. Originally CYE designed the Mini-G for 50 nitro size helis and smaller. However once they started testing the new gyro they discovered it works extremely well on any size machine including 90 size nitro and electric helis. For this reason, and the small footprint, the Mini-G once released became the most popular gyro from CYE.
If you own a Solid-G today, not to fret. CYE will continue to honor the manufacture warranty on the unit. They are also going to keep some units in stock to fill warranty replacements. Once that stock pile is exhausted they will use Mini-G as the warranty replacement.
Too bad I’ve just bought one… moreover there’s some kind of misunderstanding as Curtis Youngblood himself has suggested that there are differenced between Solid G and Mini G that shouldn’t be ignored…
