I attended the Port Charlotte Heli Event on Saturday, February 28th. The event was a success as they brought in 59 registered pilots and many spectators. The event is put on by the Charlotte Radio Control Society (CRCS) and hosted at the Shell Creek RC Field. The weather was great. A little windy but awesome flying as usual with pilots like Scott Gray, Henry Caldwell, Bert Kammerer, Craig Martin, Bobby Smith, and Mike Fortin to name a few.
Outrage R/C hosted a 3D Heli Contest where there was a tie for first place between Craig Martin and Alex Ruiz setting up for a good ole fashioned flyoff. Craig Martin was victorious this day and won the flyoff setting the final results as:
3rd Place – Mike Fortin 1st Place – Craig Martin 2nd Place – Alex Ruiz

All in all this was a great event as in years past and congrats to the CRCS for making it happen.
