This past Saturday was the first ever event put on by the OC heli crew. With attendance near the 70′s, it could be said this was very successful for a first time event. The club held a large raffle that consisted of many top dollar prizes. Noon time demos took place along with an autorotation and drag race contest that yielded cash prizes for the first three winning contestants. Tim Jones took first place in the drag race with his “beast”, and “fireup” Kevin took first in the auto contest. Weather was good throughout the day, with cloudy skies, temperatures in the low 70′s, and very little wind. There were several vendors in attendance including MTA Hobbies, Gyro Hobbies, and Canopy Works. Helifreak.com, an online forum, also made a big appearance at the event playing a major roll in the organization and setup of the field. Overall, the event was a huge success and will hopefully be even bigger and better next year.
With all the events that we have been going to in the past few months, to say we have been overloaded with videos is an understatement. We are now finally getting to the Bakerfield videos. To kick it off, here is a video of Justin Barry laying it down with his Avant Aurora. More videos to come.
