As you know we covered 2009 Orlando Heli Blowout in Apopka, Florida this weekend. I myself, totally underestimated this event and I am thankful that it was as big as it was. Even though Wednesday, Thursday and Friday started off a bit cold…Saturday and Sunday were amazing. This is one for the record books. Second year, over 212 registered pilots…and about 500 people on site. Great flying, demos, contest, raffles and huge sponsor support…as well as the thankless efforts of Team OHB and RCAF members who made it all happen behind the scenes. As I sit here on my flight back to LAX writing this….as with every fun fly….I wish I could bring you EVERYTHING the event has to offer but it looks like we have done so by getting the word out for the event coordinators and motivating more people to come the gatherings.
